District 6 – Urban Hospitals
It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I submit my nomination for the College of Pharmacists of BC Board Member position for District 6.
Biography
My career in pharmacy started as a Pharmacy Assistant. After completing the Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services Pharmacy Residency program, I worked at St. Paul’s Hospital as a Clinical Pharmacist. In 2014, I completed a Master in Business Administration, and then worked in the Vancouver Coastal Health - Coastal Corporate Office. My next role allowed me to lead the implementation of automated dispensing cabinets in all acute care areas at Providence Health Care. After completing the project, I worked at the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre as a Clinical Supervisor where I had the pleasure of leading pharmacy practice in an outpatient care environment. My current role as Distribution Coordinator at Lions Gate Hospital has given me the rare opportunity to lead the pharmacy team through the implementation of a new Clinical Information System. Also, over the last seven years I have had the pleasure of being on the BC Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists council in various capacities.
These diverse experiences allow me to appreciate and understand the roles pharmacy plays in healthcare, as well as how we interlink with other healthcare professions and contribute to patient care.
My passion for the profession and dedication to making a difference fuel my drive to contribute to improving patient care.
My goals as the representative for Urban Hospitals are:
- To help advance pharmacy practice in BC and enable teams to have the highest possible impact on patient care
- To increase communication and collaboration both internally and externally
- To raise the profile of pharmacy teams and expand our opportunities to positively contribute to better patient care
I would be honoured to have the opportunity to contribute my skills, enthusiasm, and leadership to represent urban hospital pharmacists as the College of Pharmacists of BC Board Member for District 6.
Sincerely,
Anca Cvaci
