Change Day BC 2017
The College is excited to be a part of Change Day BC 2017!
Change Day BC is on November 17, 2017 and the College is encouraging BC’s registered health professionals to join the movement to drive positive change within BC’s health system. Join us and make a pledge to commit an act of change, or to try something new, in order to improve the care of patients in British Columbia.
Change Day started with England’s National Health Service in 2013 and has since grown to include countries from all over the world with over one million pledges worldwide! Change Day first came to British Columbia in 2015, garnering nearly 8000 pledges from health care professionals across the province.
“As health care professionals, we must remember to stay committed to moving our practice forward through positive change and ensuring that BC’s patients have access to the best health system possible.”
- Bob Nakagawa, Registrar
A pledge is a voluntary personal commitment to changing healthcare in BC for the better. Past pledges have included:
- Talking about mental health;
- Spending a day in a patient gown;
- Working to increase cultural safety for Indigenous people seeking health services; and
- Acknowledging the work of fellow healthcare professionals.
What’s your pledge?
From now until November 17, 2017, join the College, BC’s Patient Safety and Quality Council and your fellow healthcare professionals and make a pledge to improve patient care and create a positive impact on BC’s health system.

"I pledge to consider cultural sensitivity and humility in pharmacy practice and regulatory issues"
