The College was pleased to present at the 10th Annual Pharmacy Technician Society of BC Conference on Saturday, October 17, 2015. Regulated pharmacy technicians - and College staff - Ashley Cheung and Bethany Gamache shared their experiences entering the pharmacy profession, pursuing regulation, and their backgrounds working in various pharmacy practice settings before working at the College. They also presented on the College’s Practice Review Program.
Ashley Cheung is the Coordinator of Practice Reviews and Competency, and has been with the College since June 2013. She has been extensively involved in the development of the Practice Review Program in community practice and schedules all of the practice reviews with pharmacy managers.
As of September 2015, the College has completed 177 Pharmacy Reviews and 374 Pharmacy Professionals Reviews since the starting the Practice Review Program in community practice earlier this year.
Bethany Gamache is the Coordinator of Hospital Practice Reviews / Compliance Officer, and joined the College in July 2015. She is involved in the development of the Practice Review Program for hospital practice settings, and in her dual role as a Compliance Officer, she will also be traveling across the province to conduct practice reviews.
The hospital phase of the Practice Review Program will be introduced in mid-2016.
