The UBC Medication Management Certificate Program is open to community pharmacists registered in British Columbia who provide medication management to patients in ambulatory care settings.
The program consists of two modules, one online and one in-person, which are each followed by an assessment to confirm whether participants have met the learning objectives.
- Module 1 - Medication Management Overview (Online)
Details: Introduction to services provided at the Pharmacists Clinic, and an overview of medication management, communication and documentation skills
- Module 2 - Medication Management Immersion* (In-person)
A 5-day hands-on, experiential immersion at the Pharmacists Clinic (contact time of 30 hours)
Details: Pharmacist learners work with experienced pharmacist practitioners in the care of patients on-site at the Clinic.
*Note: Module 2 is offered as a 5-day (1 week) block OR a 1-day (5 week) block.
The program is CCCEP accredited and there are 32.5 CEUs available for pharmacists to put towards their annual continuing education requirements. In addition, BC pharmacists who complete the program are eligible for a $900 grant provided by the College.
The Medication Management Certification Program was made possible through a partnership between the College, the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Pharmacists Clinic, and the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Continuing Pharmacy Professional Development.
