Flu Season and The COVID-19 Pandemic
As BC continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare providers across the province have implemented varying systems in order to accommodate the delivery of the seasonal influenza vaccine.
We are updating our website to align with the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), which is now in force. Some pages may still reference the former HPA as we work through these changes. Note, all pharmacy professionals and pharmacies must now comply with the new HPOA and Bylaws and the revisedPharmacy Operations and Drug Scheduling Act(PODSA) and Bylaws.

Influenza, often called the flu, is an infection of the upper airway caused by an influenza virus. Each year, thousands of people in Canada are hospitalized and may die from influenza and its complications.
The best way to protect yourself against influenza and reduce the spread of the virus to others, is by getting vaccinated.
