Call for Volunteer Committee Members

The College is recruiting volunteers to serve on its committees!

The College’s committees are composed of registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, as well as members of the public. 

Committees and subcommittees assist the College in meeting its legislated mandate to protect the public by ensuring practitioners have the knowledge, skills and abilities to provide safe and effective pharmacy care. 

We encourage registrants and members of the public interested in contributing to BC's public health system to learn more about the College's committees using the table below:

Volunteer Appointments

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians 

The College’s committees are composed primarily of registered pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from a variety of different practice backgrounds. 

To be considered for appointment, you must: 

• Be a full pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Be in good standing 
• Have been registered with the College for a minimum of 1 year 

In order to apply as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician, please provide the following: 

• Completed Committee Member Volunteer Application Form (Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians)
• Up-to-date Resume 

Public Members 

In addition to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the College requires public representation on many of its committees. 
Public committee members provide transparency and diverse perspectives, as well as a wide range of knowledge and skills that help to enhance the effectiveness of each committee. 

In order to apply as a public member, please provide the following: 

• Completed Public Committee Member Volunteer Application form 
• Up-to-date Resume 

Existing Committee Members

Committee members are not required to submit a new application to retain any appointments they currently hold. 

Current committee members are however eligible to apply to join additional committees.

In order to apply for additional committee appointments, existing members must submit an up-to-date resume and the appropriate application form as outlined above. 

Time Commitment 

All committee members are appointed for terms of up to 2 years and are eligible for reappointment for a maximum of 3 consecutive terms. 

Committees typically meet 3 to 4 times per year, with sessions ranging from half to full day or evening meetings. 

Meetings can be either in-person or via teleconference.
