CE-PLUS TOOL BACK ONLINE ON NEW PDAP PORTAL
In February, after a series of service disruptions seriously impacted on the ability for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to be able to fulfill their obligations with regards to continuing education, the College made the decision that the existing portal would need to be replaced with one supported by a better history of reliability. On May 6, the College launched its new PDAP Portal. The new portal is based on one used by a number of regulatory bodies across Canada, including the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
The new portal is designed to help you self-assess your practice, develop learning goals, and then turn the learning you conducted in pursuit of those goals into Learning Records that can be submitted to the College. While the new portal is similar to the old one in its features, the new portal is designed to let users take command of their own learning process and to provide resources that will allow them to do so effectively, such as the CPD model.
AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT EXAM
In February, the Board asked for a proposal for an alternative to the Knowledge Assessment exam by the September board meeting. Since then, the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) has been working diligently on developing a new program that satisfies the assessment component of PDAP and the College’s mandate to protect the public.
Watch for more details coming this fall.
