The Board approved a fee schedule that will reduce licence fees for a majority of registrants. This is substantial for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student registrants as they will see significant fee reductions. Annual pharmacist registration fees will now be set at a flat rate of $530 a year. Fees for pharmacy technicians will remain at 2/3 of the full pharmacist fee. Perhaps the most exciting part of the fee reduction proposal is that student fees will now be completely eliminated.
This proposed fee schedule will also streamline the pharmacy licence fee structure. This would mean that there will be a slight increase in the annual pharmacy licence fee to $1331. With this flat rate for all pharmacy licensure services it allows for the elimination of 11 separate additional smaller fees. Please note that the requirement to submit all the corresponding forms still remains.
The fee reduction is scheduled to occur later this year so you won’t see the reductions right away. Watch for College communication on when the fees come into force.
