A Message from our Board Chair - You Can Play an Important Role in the College's 2018 Board Elections
You can play an important role in our 2018 Board elections by identifying and nominating the best possible candidates, or deciding to run yourself.
As a self-governing profession, collaboration between pharmacy professionals with different backgrounds and public representatives is essential for the Board in meeting its mandate to protect patient safety. The variety of different backgrounds and experience create an environment that enables us to engage in respectful deliberation at the Board table as we regulate pharmacy practice in BC.
It is only through shared work and experiences that we can truly fulfill our vision of “better health through excellence in pharmacy.”
I’ve been fortunate to be a member of the College Board for the past 3 years. As a practicing pharmacist, patient care is my number one professional priority; which is why it has been an honour and a privilege to learn, plan and work with my fellow board and committee members in order to enhance the quality of that care.
We’ve still got a lot of work to do and I encourage you to be a part of it. Taking a turn at the Board table gives you an incredible opportunity to contribute to the practice of pharmacy in BC and as well as advance patient safety. Share and expand on your experiences and protect the public by taking a step out of your individual practices and see things from a broader perspective.
If you are passionate about advancing the standard of patient care within British Columbia’s pharmacy profession I encourage you to consider running in these upcoming Board elections. Additionally, if you have any colleagues that you think may be suitable for a position on the Board please identify and nominate them.
Registrants in District 2 (Fraser Valley), 4 (Kootenay/Okanagan), 6 (Urban Hospitals) and 8 (Pharmacy Technicians) are eligible to run in the 2018 Board elections.
