The Ministry of Health is currently still developing e-prescribing through PharmaNet. However, until e-prescribing is available, pharmacists are required to ask for an original or unique signature for each prescription.

The College held their 122th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel on Saturday, November 23. Over 40 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians participated in the meeting.
Not surprisingly, by far the most common complaint received at the College are ones made in relation to medication dispensing errors by pharmacists.
Pharmacy technicians, in a community or hospital setting, are now permitted to witness and destroy narcotics as per Health Canada Circular Letter to Pharmacists in Canada No. 655.
The College attended the 8th Annual Pharmacy Technician Society of BC (PTSBC) Conference which was held on October 25th and 26th at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre in Burnaby.
The College has reaffirmed its support of harm reduction strategies that help patients achieve better health and has endorsed the distribution of harm reduction supplies in pharmacies.
