Ali Asghar Laal (also known as Alejandro Farris and Alejandro Fernandez), on June 26, 2013, a Panel of the Discipline Committee, pursuant to s. 39(1)(c) of the Health Professions Act, found Ali Asghar Laal of Victoria, British Columbia, Registration No. 08811 (the "Registrant") guilty of professional misconduct for:
- Having inappropriate personal relationships with two patients, one of which included having sexual relations with the patient; and
- Keeping a loaded handgun hidden within the licensed pharmacy of which he was the owner and pharmacy manager.
The Panel also found, pursuant to s. 39(1)(a) of the Health Professions Act, that the Registrant had not complied with the Bylaws to the Pharmacy Operations and Drug Scheduling Act by maintaining outdated pharmaceutical products in the licensed pharmacy of which he was the owner and pharmacy manager, and keeping the outdated products as part of the active pharmacy inventory; and failing to notify the College that the licensed pharmacy of which he was the owner and pharmacy manager had been renovated.
