The College would like to clarify the current status of the Certification for Drug Administration by Injection and Intranasal Route.
The College now accepts pharmacy licensure renewals online.
As a health care provider, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are required to authorize and complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) as a step in their initial registration or registration renewal process. CRCs are legislated under the BC Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) and is a mandatory requirement of the BC Ministry of Justice for any registered pharmacist or pharmacy technician. The CRC authorization is consent for the Ministry of Justice to conduct a vulnerable sector check.
The College will be implementing online licensure renewals starting with pharmacy licenses whose licenses expire January 31, 2015 (see correction).
In the current renewal process, individual pharmacists are able to renew their registration online, but pharmacies must complete their license renewal manually. The push for online pharmacy license renewals will streamline the process and help ensure better record keeping.
International Pharmacy Graduates (IPGs) now have a new entryway into Canadian pharmacy.
The National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) launched its new website www.pharmacistsgatewaycanada.ca on June 25, 2014. The new IPG Gateway to Canada Project will assist international pharmacists in their transition to Canadian practice.
Beginning in September, the College will discontinue paper receipts and begin to offer electronic receipts and registrations cards through eServices.
In order to receive receipt notifications you will be required to have a personal email address registered. If you would like to update your email address, please log into eServices > Update Profile now.
If you wish to have a registration card for your wallet, you will be able to print a copy from your eServices account.
