On September 16, 2020, Provincial Health Officer (PHO) Dr. Bonnie Henry issued a public health order authorizing BC’s Registered Nurses (RNs) and registered psychiatric nurses (RPNs) to prescribe opioid agonist treatment (OAT) as part of the province’s continued effort to combat the overdose crisis.
In the past week, British Columbia has seen a surge of more than 150 wildfires across the province.

The College of Pharmacists of BC’s Annual Report for the fiscal year 2019/2020 (March 1, 2019 to February 29, 2020) is now available at annualreport.bcpharmacists.org.
BC’s Health Regulators were disturbed to learn today of allegations of a racist “game” being played in BC emergency rooms. Staff in one or more ERs are said to be playing a “game” involving guessing the blood alcohol content of patients coming into the ER for help, in particular Indigenous patients
New requirements for the written records of verbal prescriptions to be filled at community pharmacies, will come into effect on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Topics include Black Lives Matter; an update on the College's response to COVID-19; the results of our Customer Satisfaction Survey; and an update on pharmacists' injection authority
